INFORMATION AND POLICIES
Sessions: Woodlawn runs on a four-session system: Fall session from September through November, Winter session from December through February, Spring session from March through May and Summer session from June through August.
Registration/Course Cancellation: Students may register for classes at the Academy or online. (Click here for online registration.) Tuition for classes must be paid in full at the time of registration. Registrations are due one week prior to the start of the course. If classes do not meet the minimum they will be cancelled and all registered participants will be notified three days prior to the start of the class. A full refund or voucher will be given should this occur. It is imperative to sign up before the class begins. Registration begins Monday, February 6. No early registrations will be taken.
Activity Code Numbers: When registering, note the activity code (AC#) for each class/camp. This will help our customer service staff better assist you.
Financial Assistance: Woodlawn is committed to serving all members of the community. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify. To apply for financial assistance, please call the Academy to set up an appointment with Molly Cunningham. We strongly recommend setting up an appointment in advance to make sure funding is in place before registering.
Child Drop Off and Pick Up: Please drop off and pick up your child at the appropriate time. Our instructors are not responsible for your child until class begins. We ask that all minors be escorted to and from class by an authorized adult.
Refunds: Refunds or credit vouchers may be given in extenuating circumstances and will be granted on a prorated basis from the date which you withdraw from the class. In order to initiate a refund, the student must notify the office by calling or writing. No refunds on contractual classes.
Student Absence: Students are required to call the office to report absences. No make-up lessons will be given if a student misses a class.
Teacher Absence: If an instructor is unable to teach a lesson or class, he or she will give 24-hour notice (when possible) and will reschedule the lesson or class during the designated make-up week at the end of the session.
Inclement Weather: In case of bad weather, please call the Academy. When possible, class cancellations will also be reported on WSDR and class participants will be called.
Holidays: Woodlawn Arts Academy will be open most holidays. Holidays we are closed this session are listed with our hours on the home page of our website.
Photographs: Periodically, the Academy will be taking photos and videos of activities to promote programs. If you do not want your photo or that of your child used in that way, please notify the office.
Suggestions Welcomed: The Academy is community based and wants to hear your comments regarding successes and areas needing improvements. Please share your comments with a staff member.
Nondiscriminatory Policy: Woodlawn Arts Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
